Jackie Schmidt has won a lot with a long head-stock lathe with the muzzle of the barrel in a bushing in the spindle. I think Shelley Davidson had a horizontally adjustable centering device for his big lathe. He wasn't a world beater but he did pretty well. There were others in the past that did similar that I've mostly forgotten.uses a bushing to support the muzzle in the spindle with no indication. How many here think that that's the best way?
