Unknown Munitions

Unknown Munitions ammo is loaded using AutoThrow/AutoTrickers on A&D FX-120i scales, Zero Presses, AMP annealers, Henderson Precision Trimmers, and CPS primer seaters.

If you are local to the area (Post Falls, Coeur d' Alene, Spokane) stop by the new retail shop. There is an area set up so you can anneal and load ammo using all the goodies. There is also brass, bullets, rifles, and powder; and other stuff than can't be sold online.

And now that I am outed, I won't be able to engage in all those fun arguments on cleaning, loading, and bear encounters. I'll
have to forgo sarcasm too.......

Oh well, it's not so bad. I was going to retire when I found this job as the load developer. When the lathe gets here I'll also be chambering barrels--more of an assemble to order type thing than a full custom rifle-builder.

Chambering barrels and developing loads was what I was going to be doing in retirement anyway. My biggest decision will soon be whether I chamber my own barrels at home or at work.......

and he shoots(well) in his spare time

Bringing this thread back to add a little more info. I was out there today. The retail space is setup, the lathe is there and @INTJ is chambering barrels. They seem to be building custom guns as well as doing load dev and building ammo for customer guns.

They have stuff I couldn't find elsewhere. Like CCI 450 primers. They even had Varget the last time I was in. But the real reason I was out there was to use some of their equipment. They have an AutoThrow/AutoTricker on A&D FX-120i scale, a Zero Press, an AMP annealer and a Henderson Precision Trimmer that they let you use free of charge. I used the AMP annealer to anneal about 450 rounds of 6 BRA brass. While I was there I picked up another brick of CCI 450 primers.

Talked to INTJ about a new barrel I bought from a friend who had the reamer so he reamed it for me as well as sold me his spare barrel. New barrel was a Brux 7.5 twist. I've always run 8 twist with the EPS bullets I've been using but this 7.5 behaves a bit differently. INTJ gave me 4 different varieties of bullets to try. 3 Barts and 1 Vapor Trails. If they shoot, he'll sell me what he has. He was telling me about the different bearing surface lengths of the bullets and what kind of jump/jam they like. I hope I remember. These guys and girls know their business. One girl I talked to (who helped me calibrate the AMP for 6 BRA) is the one who loaded the ammo for the 4 mile shoot.

This is the rifle that @INTJ is building for me. I was in the shop last week and was able to see the almost finished product. Great people and extremely helpful. 338 edge+p on a Bat Vesper action with a 27" benchmark barrel. Just waiting for cerakot.D93BE129-15C9-4E4B-A217-703A849D943C.jpeg

Thought I saw it being painted (cerakote) today. I should get to shoot it soon.
Nice. Unfortunately I’m leaving town for a week tomorrow. I was hoping I would be able to take it with me since my friend has a 2k yard range on his property.
