Lanolin & isopropol alchol lube mix

I wash the cases with Coleman lantern fuel, dump the cases in a bucket, cover with the lantern fuel. Swish the cases around in the fuel (fuel is odorless), pour the fuel back in the can with a funnel (paper towel or coffee filter in the funnel) then pour the cases out on a large towel, let fuel evaporate. I re use the fuel over and over again for this purpose. I learned this trick working for a commercial reloader back in the 60's.
And it lubes appropriately? This has appeal. Other than the odor.
My bride will have my ass she smells that. Already caught nine kinds of hell over the one-shot. My smelling is like my hearing, very lacking. As luck would have it, I can fart in my office and she can tell from the living room I got in the ice cream.

The Coleman lantern fuel is used to remove the Lanolin/heat mixture or other lubes used for full length sizing. OFF brands of the lantern fuel work just as well. I use a large Beach towel, dump the cases in the middle, grab each end of the towel, and rock the cases back and forth in towel, then place the towel out in the sun. Don't try warming the cases in the kitchen oven, like a friend did, blowing the door off of his gas oven....YIKES!

DUH.... of course. That makes sense. Sorry for the display of ignorance there.

I use "denatured alchohol" which I think is the same thing.

This one makes me ponder a bit.

Where are all of the ultra-safety guys now? It's not uncommon to hear those saying: 'I don't want a propane flame annealer in my house'

We now have a thread suggesting indoor use of volatile chemicals like naphtha and methanol.

I use Alcohol to remove the Lube, I’m not sure why ya’ll are mixing the two to start with.

I didn't interpret anyone saying to bring these products IN the house. They were only suggesting its use.

I'm having a hard time believing that most people will bring their brass outside to apply lube, only to bring them back in to start the reloading process. On that same thought process, you could use your propane brass annealer outside too.

I wouldn't think the alcohol mix would be a big deal. I personally keep hand sterilizer(90% alcohol I think) next to my reloading bench to clean my hands as well as some parts as needed. It sure as hell is no where near my my torch annealer while being used. Now Naptha? that stinking stuff is another story. I'm curious about the HEAT product. I bet it has an aroma itself given what its for.
I will also comment that location dictates what we do. My reloading/gun room/office are all a part of my house. End of the hallway, right next to utilty room AND my AC intake. You can bet your butt I'm not getting away with nor have a desire to get too carried away with cleaners and such in there. Those that have a reloading room in a separate layout/building have a lot more flexibility.

I mixed 1-12 parts of 90% isopropyl alcohol and lanolin oil.

Seems to work just fine after it dries, if the cases are acting like they don’t have enough lube on the inside of the neck I spray some on a q-tip and that solves the issue.

I also use a 10-1 ratio. After resizing I place the lubed brass in a sonic cleaner, 1/4 teaspoon citric acid and a teaspoon of Dawn dish detergent. The brass is clean and shiny inside and out.

I have found like DHall_37 except I use 12-1 ratio. I have found also after you put them in the bag and roll them around you need to let the liquid dry or evaporate for a couple of minutes. Seems to work better that way. Since using this I have never stuck a case or had dents. I also still use Imperial Sizing Die Wax for smaller quantities. Try the lanolin mix you will like it. You will also be amazed how far a few sprays will go. If you use alcohol make sure to use 90% or greater.
