RCBS Rock Chucker Press Bushing question

RCBS will give you one if you call, if you can't get in touch with them let me know as I may have an extra.
I've never needed any RCBS service help but have heard nothing but stellar reviews.

Replies like Shooter13's are what makes for a GREAT forum!

Id just run a tap thru there and keep on moving forward.
As far as rcbs service, maybe theyre busy these days, but i broke the handle on my rock chucker during a move. Emailed them a few months ago, they replied after a few weeks and told me the handle was $50 something bucks shipped. I have plenty of other presses.

Not sure if the threads are messed up or what. I cannot get the die to screw in a whole turn with out it getting tight.
Something in the thread engagement is out of whack... Does only one die of many have this problem. Or does every die you own also have this problem????

If it's only one die with problem, then get a thread file and do a bit of filing on the die threads to clean them up.

If all dies screwed into the press has this problem, then it's the press bushing. Take it a machinist and he'll take out the offending ding. Good luck.

There is a known problem with this, that is the reason I have a spare, I have 3 Rockchuckers and a Rebel (99.9% of reloading done on it).

Do they wear out to the point of causing problems?
No . It would only get looser , and not tighter Many of these pieces are made on a automatic screw machine , and sometimes the original Tap may develop a flaw . Broken tooth , hesitation f machine as Tap enters the hole . As Dusty said ; I'd just run a Tap into it , Carefully . And keep going . That piece is at least Quench-hardened , so lube the Tap , and the Threads , and proceed with caution .
