Time to brush up on your disaster/survival skills

I’m of the idea staying in my house is good but it would be for a limited time as/if things go totally upside down. Not a pleasant thought but I feel as panic grows it’ll be hard to defend a home that’s on fire.
I’ve watched New York City become a version of a hot LZ, and there is not even a food ,water, shelter problem.
I think a disappearing move has to be considered.
Not easy. Haven’t even thought of those with medical problems nor those injuries which are bound to come but only at the very worst time possible.

My grand parents had a functional cast iron hand pump. Always
had to pour a gallon of water down it before it would draw. Coldest,
best tasting water I ever had. It was rumored to be used for shine
back in the day. Grand Dad was known for pulling a cork and was
infamous for his barrel of prune brandy. Either way, there are emergency
hand pumps on the market that have a decent head lift.

I was in and owned my own water treatment/purification business for 30 years,
If possible, suggest getting a Reverse Osmosis System that has both carbon filtration and a Reverse Osmosis membrane. Carbon removes any organic impurities up to 100% and the Reverse Osmosis membrane removes inorganic impurities down to one ten thousandth of a micron or between 94% to 99% of inorganic impurities. RO was invented to make salinated sea water potable.
There are some inorganic impurities that can get through an RO membrane to a greater extent like radium and an additional special cartridge needs to be added but they are not that terribly expensive.
It's always best to have the water feeding any type of filtration system be softened
first because the calcium and magnesium in hard water will reduce the life of the
filtering components.
The only extra item needed to operate an RO system is a pressure tank of some kind
because water has to be pressurized against the RO membrane to go through. Most
private wells operate on a pressure tank system.
RO purified water also contains more dissolved oxygen than the feed water feeding it
which is a good thing health wise whereas Distilled water has less.
Hope this helps.

Anyone have any real recommendations or feed back on a water filtration system? While I have a creek on my property that does not have live stock above it, the neighbor has fill the head of it full of lead over the years. I possible may have contributed a time or 2. I also have access to another which provides a lot of water but no telling what those above me may use it for and it has livestock runoff
You can have to water tested to see what all it needs to be purified from.....also, whoever does the water testing, should be able to recommend various treatments for the water.

One other aspect about drinking water. The natives from foreign countries drink water that will make us very sick but doesn't bother them at all. The body can/will adapt if the water supply is "normal" in the sense of non pollutants of the man made type. Just break your body in slowly instead of all at once. Face the fact you will be sick until your body has adapted.........I would only do this as worse care scenario though. Taking a lot of chances doing this.

Do some research into home made filtration systems. While doing my research I ran across several that made their own using sand, charcoal and various other type things.

The survivalist and preppers have worked a lot of this stuff out already. Study their techniques and use what is applicable to your situations.

Community's like mine even though we are rural will have to band together. Everyone has guns here so one could easily pop me and take my stuff. It will have to be strength in numbers and using each other's attributes, tools, supplies in my area. I can get clean fresh water coming out of springs in the mountains just up the road from me a mile but not my land.

Not too bad for survivable water. I'd add in a few 55 gallon
drums for storage.
I find your chart interesting and to the point.
However, and this is a serious question not some wise ass crap, I know little about this so bear with me.
I think that chart is showing the pump IN the at the bottom of the well. It requires way less to PUSH water than to lift it. That’s why, bad example, fuel pumps on modern cars are IN the tank and not on the engine. Cars need instant pressure (high) and immediately.
Fuel injection be it gasoline or diesel has to PUSH the fuel. It can’t SUCK it to the engine.
So I wonder if your chart (nice-one) is showing the liquid being PUSHED up.
I hope this at least makes sense.

I don't disagree with testing, but most tests only test for a limited number of the most common items found in water and the more tests for more items you want, the more expensive the tests are. There were over 100,000 different impurities and contaminates
discovered so far when I was in business and that number was growing each year by more discoveries.
Over the last 100 years industry and agriculture has dumped countless fertilizers, herbicides and industrial chemicals on our ground and in our water supplies. When some of these items meet and mix with each other either in underground aquifers or in surface water, they form entire new compounds in addition to the naturally occurring impurities already there. Compounds that may not even yet have tests to discover.
We do know that there are only 2 types of impurities however, either organic or
inorganic or possibly a mixture of the 2. That's why I suggest Reverse Osmosis because it covers both types.
Yes, get some basic testing done but before spending a ton of money on testing
check out the costs of systems.

There's another section on security that I'll get posted as soon as this part has been discussed. It has info for neighborhood check points, community cooperation, alarm systems - no electricity type, and a few other things. There's a part on how to deal with strangers that may shock you a bit coming from a religious stand point.

But, who is the establishment? My concern now is, who is the enemy of this country? Is it Russia, China or is it the radical groups already here? I am more concerned with the radicals here. At least with China and Russia, there are negotiations.

The Jan 6 attack was an attack from within. What if they had been successful and found Mike Pence, Nancy Pelosi or a number of our Political leaders, some you might like and some maybe not, but what if they had? It was an out of control mob that did not represent 97% of America. It was a violent attack on our Capitol and no one has that right.

One person planned an event, and then directed an armed mob to attack the Capitol.
Yes, that pisses me off.

Good information. Thank you all.

A typical residential system takes between 3 and 4 gallons if water to make one gallon
of Purified water.
Keep in mind there are only 2 ways to PURIFY water: Distillation and Reverse Osmosis.
PURIFICATION means to remove both organic and inorganic impurities.
FILTRATION such as CARBON only removes organic.
Yes, they do "waste" water in that sense, but Distillation uses heat and or electricity
to work and from a cost standpoint, usually RO is more efficient.

I’m a bit lost as to when you will post the security section?
Are you waiting for someone to start? Or for this section to reach an end.
If it’s the former well I’m asking.
Lots of good info so far.
If things go sideways it will happen fast and that’s not the time to think of a plan.

Just scanned the headlines....Manchin and Schumer agreed to spend (on our backs}
$$369 BILLION$$ on CLIMATE CHANGE!!! &%$#@#$&@!!!

IT WAS ON MSDNC
Let’s always remember what a BILLION is.
Even though we have been brainwashed by the politicians and the press just to accept the number.
It’s 1000 piles that each pile has one million dollars in it
If I remember correctly $20,000 US dollar’s in $100 dollar bills squeezed tightly is one inch thick.
