Who drives a Prius?

Serviced a few, did replace one starter battery, did brakes on a few but no major repairs.
So, engine runs on gas, sometimes electric motor kicks in.
Battery for electric motor gets charged when brakes are applied??? How does the electric motor battery get charged if you don't apply the brakes? EV, = plug in. Got that. Hybrid?? Asking for a friend.

Great car. My wife bought one 10? 12 years ago. I was negative at first, but then I started driving it. It’s a fun little car to drive. I could get 50 MPG out of it if I babied it. It had a little readout on a screen that showed your MPG in real time and it became a fun game to see who could get the best mileage. Of course, when I took it out alone to zip around the back roads, I didn’t do so good. It felt like a little sports car, tho. It charged when you braked, but I think it also charged off the gas engine while you drove. I’d get one again if I needed another car.

Regenerative braking does charge the batteries but only minimally. Other than that, battery must be charged via AC wall charging station. There are REEVs (range extended electric vehicles) that actually have a gas engine that is not attached to the drivetrain in any way, and only serves as a generator to charge the batteries.
