Stiller (and) Actions in 2022

Hi All,

Im looking for information on Stiller actions. Its hard (for me at least) to find information on the state of the company and quality of their actions in 2022. I understand the company has gone through a change of ownership.

I know they used to build a quality action 8-10 years ago. I have never owned one personally but my cranky old gunsmith liked them but hasnt built on one in quite a while.

Im interested in a TAC338 as an option for an upcoming build.

I just bought another Predator… it’s of the same quality in terms of fit and finish as the first one I purchased in 2015. Lead time was about 4 months…

Lead time is one of my concenrs. I have Defiance actions and love them but lead time is...not ideal.

If you figure out the lead time, let us know.

I have a Stiller Tac 30 that I really love. It took 2-3000 rounds to break in and smooth out, however. When I first got it I was not happy with it... the finish was kind of draggy/sticky but now that it's broken in, it's one of my favorite actions.

The best solution to lead time is to order now, and get it over with.

I think ptg always made the bolts. That was the connection. Not sure about these days

Lead times everywhere are horrible and I can get a hold of a new TAC338 at a local-ish dealer.

Given the scenario... I wouldn't hesitate to get it.

I talked to them a couple days ago. This is what I was told.

They said they are in the middle of a move. Lead time given was 28 weeks across the board to give time to move and get everything set up again.

Beyond that, we will have to wait and see. I'm wanting a tac 408 action for a shop build!

I bought one from Pacific Tool & Gauge and their works Sucks. Not to mention all the lies and BS Ive had to endure.I will never do business with PTG again.
