White Oak TR M-LOK Handguard

Good question topic which I have struggled with myself. For some reason, handguard makers are making handguards that are so uncomfortable to actually hold because they believe people want all those rails, attachment points and such to hang every imaginable thing in their house off their rifle. My thoughts are that I want my scope mounted to my receiver, not a handguard. If I want a light, range finder, camera, thermal, etc then throw that crap in a bag and carry it with you… IMO a clean looking upper with a good feeling round handguard is the most desirable. I owned the upper you are considering in an 18” barrel with the varmint handguard and other than being heavy, it was a shooter that I sometimes regret trading off.
 
I have this exact m-lok handguard on my XTC rifle. I picked it specifically because it didn't have rails all over it. Shooting XTC, getting into position with a sling, I didn't want to be holding onto rails.I have no complaints at all. Looks good too. I hope this helps.
 
I got a Midwest Industries M-Lok that has a pic rail only on the top. It has other holes to mount other accessories if you choose.

Is your rail longer that than 12.625? It looks like part of your gas block is covered by the handguard.
 
WOA handguards are excellent, I have TR and Varmint hand guards. The full length rail on TR-M is not a problem as I thought i might not like it. WOA barrel nuts are excellent, Information on length and gas block coverage or not is on their web site also. I mainly shoot squirrels and targets for load development, again very good product and information at WOA
 
Coda evolution is my favorite. It is smooth except for what you put on it. Only issue is i have to cut mloc slots in it if a guy wants a rail for a tripod. It has them all over except the rear on the bottom. Has 2 up front if all you want is a light.
The toughest option is a BCM in mloc or keymod. Its all in if you want aluminum or carbon fiber

I was hoping to get a complete varmint upper with a Kreiger 24” barrel, but WOA quoted me 1 year on the barrel.

I know the pain of waiting, just received 6mm ARC barrel from Kreiger (1 year). While waiting I put together a 6.5 Grendel and a .20 Practical, 6.5 is AA 18" and .20 is WOA 20" both shoot very well, I have not gotten to a optimum load on either yet.
The Grendel has the TR-MLOK and the Practical has the Varmint Handguard, a lot of good barrels and a lot of good people putting them together.
