New 9mm S&W MP9 Compact

First time at the range with this new pistol. Really like the way it feels in my hand and the recoil impulse. My BHP feels a lot sharper and that thin trigger don't help.

Target at 45 feet, shot a cell phone sized group. Not terrible not great, need to get used to the trigger and fix the gritty take up. Apex trigger, maybe but I'd rather keep it stock for now. Fixed sights no RDS for now.

I then shot my 1911 .45 and grouped half the size of the 9mm. I just shoot that .45 better but looking to get a 9mm 1911 and hope to shoot similar if not better with that platform.

Shot some Zero 124gr bullets with 4 grains of Titegroup that grouped very well but slightly left but probably me, still gonna tweak that load next time out.

So short version, I shoot better with my .45, my DAO .40 than my 9mms, maybe it's a metric thing;). Thanks for looking.

I just installed an Apex in my new Hellcat Pro. I haven't shot the pistol yet, but I love the feel of the Apex vs the OEM trigger. Dry firing it, the sight picture is rock solid, whereas with the OEM I had to really death grip it and concentrate to avoid pulling the front sight. Can't wait to field test it.

PS Apex' installation videos are fantastic, a big reason I decided to buy the kit.

Compacts aren't really known for their accuracy . I have a G 22 , .40 cal and a "drop-in" 9mm barrel . Can't tell which caliber I'm shooting by "group size" at fifty yards . Both groups run about a inch and a half . For a "stryker" fired pistol .

I wish I could shoot an inch and a half at 50 yards. At my best I could get 70% into a dinner plate at 50 yards with a revolver. I'll have to try a full size and see if I do better.

Have to give credit for my Pistol skills to my Father . He was a multiple Natl. Champion and won many Matches , and Ohio Gov, Cups in the early , mid 1960's . The longer barrel , and higher velocity I load helps a lot . You can load for increased velocity , and keep chamber pressure down on a pistol load , the same way we do with our rifle loads . Just requires a little thought , and testing . :D
