Sad day Groundhog hunting

Saw this at 250 yards while groundhog hunting yesterday, called game wardens, yes please walk out there and send me pics. This thing was shot yesterday morning, barely in rigormortis, just bloating slightly. As of this morning NCWRC has not checked the corpse. To busy on the lake busting drunks and bikini girls not wearing lifejackets. Area Sgt told me today they were to tied up. This is the same field I posted about a couple of years ago, 5 bucks, all heads cut off, bodies left to rot. Obviously shot from the road, 246 yards away. Checked this morning - still there. This evening, Turkey buzzards on him. I am tired of trying to make a difference as they obviously don't give a sh$t. Having trouble uploading -be patient.

Noticed a doe at around 250 yards with a fawn. Watched her ears pitch up and head go down. Looked 15 yards ahead and saw him laying there. Makes me want to puke. Thrill kill I guess.

Not a perfect scenario but put a camera on the road at least if you get a vehicle in the middle of the night that you suspect they could follow up the tag number or at least I have them on a list of suspects

we had a guy in our area that routinely shot deer out of season and left them lay to rot. The game warden finally caught him and he got a $10,000 fine and will never get a hunting license again. Too bad he didn't get time in prison.

Yep, get plate # at night and find a deputy that likes deer. He'll run the plates, could recognize a known individual. It has to start somewhere. I have put my decoy out on private ground and it will stop vehicles, easy to read plates with digital night vision. Put reflective tape on the eyes. Sit on other side of the road, you may get a shooter.

I dearly love to hunt and the passion was really strong in my teen and 20ish years where it just seemd like I couldn't get enough of it.

That said, I could never wrap my mind around the desire to just shoot a deer, elk, moose, whatever and just leave it???? Better known as a drive-by-shooting or thrill kill. It seems to go in waves here where it increases at times and than seems to die down. My guess is it's young guys driving around drunk, with a rifle, and when a animal is spotted, it gets shot?

Cell cams for sure if affordable for you. Couple on the road where likely shots would be from and maybe near a woodline where deer are seen hanging out. Your bound to get a pic eventually.

When the "free, give away" gravy train ends, these Chit-birds will be first in line to plunder every hardworking family out there. Sooner or later we're going to have to face it, parasites come in all sizes, colors and flavors.
In the meantime, if you've got coyotes, this should be a fine place to spend an hour or so each evening. Who knows what might come easing by for a smell?

Guys this isn't my land. My farmer leases and plants, thus I have deprivation privileges. I hold NCWRC responsible for catching these guys. They don't seem to give a damn so......I'll keep groundhog hunting, if I see these boys they will have a bad day. Period. End of post.

I ran over a deer last year with tractor n bushog but the grass was 5 to 8 ft I heard it but I looked a second too late, so much noise I hated to do it
