Not as sexy as some of the customs but the 107 SMK and 108 Bergers can hold their own from 100 to 1kI am trying to limit some testing and buying of bullets. I have a 7.5 twist 6BR with a 28" barrel with 1.25 dia full length barrel. Any suggestions on where to start with proven bullets and powder. I plan on starting with H4350 and will be shooting from 100 to 1000 yards.
I'd love to try Bart's bullets. With that twist rate you can go all the way to the 115 gr class bullets and should be fine. However, Bart's 105 Hammers are the bullet of choice for many and it will shoot lights out without a lot of load work up normally. Of course Varget is favored by many to be the best powder.
What works best for long range, typically doesn't work best at 100-300ish yards. It depends on your discipline and expectations. You may be very happy with what you can get the heavies to do for you at shorter ranges. That said, the 68-80 gr bullets are proven to be br competitive at shorter range but they don't hold up well at long. If I had to pick one bullet to do both, it might be a 90-95gr bullet. Otherwise, I'd load what works best for the distance I'm shooting. 4350 is not where I'd look for either, at least not until I'd exhausted proven better performers. The 6br is very versatile though and works with a variety of powders.I am trying to limit some testing and buying of bullets. Berger 105 hybrids @ PVI was under the impression that the twist of your barrel would give you the range in weight or legnth
of the bullets.
I understand that there will be a range , say 90-109 grains for an 8-twist barrel.
I look forward to more expert opinions on this.
The best repeatable results that I have had with an 8-twist 6BR was with Berger 108.
I will try Berger 105 hybrid if I live long enough to have them available.
I also would like to try Barts in various weights but my understanding is they are only available by the Thousand?
No you don’t have to buy a 1000.I was under the impression that the twist of your barrel would give you the range in weight or legnth

yepI’d suggest you try whatever you can get your hands on. Bullets aren’t that easy to come by right now.
