Let’s see your range

Imagine my surprise to be watching this Jack Reacher clip and realizing this range is where I learned to shoot 22 Silhouette in the early 80s and where I recently returned and taught my daughter to shoot 500 yards prone with her 308. She outshot Reacher.

Good for her!
I was told he didn’t know which end of the rifle to shoulder, when he was there, and was even less proficient at his people skills.

I belong to two different Clubs in Western Colorado. The Orchard Mesa Gun Club has covered rifle at 50,100, 200, and 300 yards. Pistol to 100 yards, and archery to 100 yards. Also Rimfire and air rifle to 50 yards.

Couple three springs ago I had a lovelorn Tom struttin' his stuff around the one mile steel plate I had out there. I had a tag, but no rifles allowed for turkeys.

The other club I am a member of is the Western Colorado Rifle and Silhouette Club. There is F-Class and tactical to 600 yards, IBS Bench Rest to 600 yards, Silhouette, Cowboy and Black Powder Cartridge to 500 meters, Rimfire silhouette and open shooting from 50 yards to 600 yards.

We tore down our old firing line cover which was 30 years old and built this new shooting house.

I’m building one right now. Only 140 yards (for now), but long overdue! That’s a temporary bench for now, concrete bench to follow. But only a 2 minute drive from my loading room. And I know I’m a lucky man!
