I dig my 6GT, and plan on getting a 22GT, but I'd be lying if I said that the thought of a long barrel 6.5GT for PRS or something similar hadn't crossed my mind now that running heavier for caliber bullets slower is apparently in vogue... Interested to see how this turns out. I bet 6.5 StaBall might turn out to be a good balance of density and burn rate in this case.

I was going to be that smart ass asking why a mini Creed ??
However, being a wild catter, I say go for it. I'm not going to
agree about 600 yards but maybe a good fit for 300 short
porch and if taking it one step more and go 30 cal. One of the
last conversations I had with Stan Taylor was his last works with
the 30x47 for the 300 meter Tack Driver match.

So how much throat to play with and your twist rate ?? I'll
suggest the 6.5, 123gr Sierra SMK HPBT to play with.

My 6.5x47 really likes 4064. It's what lead me to think less capacity could be good for the vapor trails. It might be worth a try if you have some. I needed to have loads 0.2gn down from my cold/morning load for the later, hotter relays but it wasn't unmanageable.

Really? I always felt that the 47 was being stretched to run 140gr class bullets with 4350 but was really nice in the 123 and 130gr range
