Hi Folks, I am putting a long range gun together, I contacted Kelblys on a used Panda that I bought for this build, it is 11 years old, its in new condition, no irregular lug wear, bolt fits tight, very smooth, Jewell trigger that I have pulled and cleaned with lighter fluid, I ordered a new firing pin spring for it from Kelblys, it has the TG ejector, my question is concerning the bolt, is there anything besides the spring that I should think about replacing? or at least have spare parts in my tool box in case? I have pulled the bolt apart, its very clean, no uneven wear, and visually looks great. I appreciate anyone that takes the time to reply.

Have a great weekend!

There is a very good reason I have 5 of them....they work flawlessly, all the time. As Kelbly's recommended, change out the firing pin spring every year or two and that receiver will out last both you and you kids.

Count me as another Kelbly's fan.

If you're doing a Panda as a bolt in, a worthwhile tweak is to modify the blind hole rear action screw to a through hole thats fully threaded.

I do that on the Kodiaks also...they are quite a bit thinner on the bottom compared to a Panda.

Good shootin' -Al

Converting the rear action screw hole to a through hole rather than a blind hole gets you another 3 threads of purchase before the action screw gets into the cocking cam cut. More importantly, eliminating the blind hole insures that the action screw isn't bottomed out when it seemingly comes up tight.

Here's the last one of mine I did. In the 'after' picture, you can see the newly tapped threads and how much extra length you get.

For what it's worth.... -Al
