Sold my 6.5 Creedmoor

I just sold one of my 6.5 Creedmoors that I rarely shot.
Now I'm trying to figure out what my next move is..
I have a 6ppc and the savage 12 lrp 6.5.
I do more target shooting than I do anything else 100 to 300 yards..

I would get a 22 LR of some sort. I love my 10/22 stainless/laminate.

Stay away from Savage 22 LR and 17 hmr rifles. Crappy firing pins cause failure to fire way to often !
Hopefully they fixed the issue with their new ones. Mine suck, and I hate it because the 22 LR Savage I have is stupid accurate.

After reloading for so long, I find myself wanting when I shoot 22 rimfire at targets. There’s not much to do besides testing various factory ammo. You could just stick with what you have. I would look at the little 6br, tho. It can shoot close or long and do it well.
There is also the 223. I think everyone should own at least one AR but it shoots well in a bolt gun, too. Components for it are everywhere and on the cheaper side of things compared to other choices.

Or do what I did, buy a TX200 Springer, learn to shoot it and the fun starts. Amazingly accurate, 5 shoot groups in the .1s and zeros at 25 yards, 1/2 inch at 50 yards. No tanks, no compressors just a tin of pellets. No cleaning and no reloading. I have over 3000 rounds out of mine since January for less than 100.00 with quality pellets. The starling population is not happy. Talked to a dairy farmer today about shooting on his farm, he said every dairy farmer in this valley would welcome you.

My best rifle is a CZ 457 22LR with the factory At One Boyds stock--with good ammo it is simply amazing--over the last two years we have enjoyed 22LR more than anything--quality ammo is not cheap but compared to centerfire it looks like a deal--One hole at 50 yards--half inch at 100 with no wind Golf balls at 150 yards are a chip shot--great fun! It is the last firearm I would give up because it simply performs! Any SK, Eley, or Lapaua ammo and you will be shocked at how great these rifles are A case of 5000 rounds of quality ammo is about the same price as the rifle

Lots of good suggestions offered. I'll put in my 2 cents.

I like the 22 LR option for performance / practical shooting practice. I currently don't have one but thinking of getting back into it because at least ammo seems available and while not cheap, still a value if you consider the number of shot you get for the money.

I shoot primarily 223 Rem's these days. Simply love this cartridge. Low recoil, capable of excellent accuracy and certainly a 100 - 300-yard capability which would meet one of your criteria. The only issue I have is the lack of availability of component and cost for reloading. In addition, while I haven't shot factory centerfire ammo in about 50 years, I recently priced it at some local shops and it's running about $35 with tax for 20 rounds. That's a bit pricey, at least for me.

Last but not least, I like the air rifle option. I know nothing about them but if it keeps you shooting and components are readily available and they are reasonable accurate, it would be something I would look into and may do so myself.

I sold my 6.5 CM too.

The answer for me was (1) 6 Dasher, then (2) 6ARC semi. This one looks to be tons of fun.

Good luck. (Already had summa the best 22rf here, in the paddock)

There's a lot of 6.5 Creedmore rifles for sale out here in eastern Washington. It seems like a lotta folks get disenchanted with this chambering real quick. My theory is the fast twist that doesn't do well with those that try it in cast bullets. For those that don't shoot cast, perhaps it's because their experience hasn't mirrored that of the gun rag claims?

I was shooting 140gr Berger hybrids with sub half minute accuracy (0.35 - 0.45" at 100 yd) . That load held out to 600 and beyond. Being an aging fart, wanted a little less recoil with a little better accuracy and 6mm seems to be the hot ticket there.

That, and I enjoy scheming / researching / building / breaking in / reloading / testing loads more than just shooting or even competing. And don't hunt. Other than for the next gun. Its always about "the next gun" for me.

I’d say a 30BR. Especially for the 100-300 yd targets.
I did a few years ago. Problem is it easily outshoots everything else I have. Took a lot of years to be better than my 222Rem, but it does. When I say ‘it’ I mean any of the 3 barrels I swap does it. 22 inch to 28 inch barrels and a 26 for good measure. Just superbly accurate.
