Lead on fired .45 acp?

Looks like the blowby from a light load. Usually shows on the topside of the case. Put more powder in an it will either go away or not be so bad. The more oversize the chamber, the worse it will look.

Normal for a 45.

45ACP is a fairly low pressure round (21K psi per SAAMI.) Generally not enough pressure to reliably seal at the mouth, so some blow-by is inevitable.

I would suggest looking into the chamber every now and then; I get some crud building up in there between cleanings that can impact chambering. It seems to be a mix of soot and bullet lube; scrapes out easily with a chopstick or similar.

You want scorched cartridge case walls? Use Titegroup.
I worry about function and accuracy of the reload over everything.
If you want clean...get VV powders.

A little more bell when you seat the bullets will help from shaving lead and a little tighter crimp. Bullseye powder is a dirty powder, but it is accurate. Many thousands of bullseye loads has been shot in Bullseye competitions.

As for a heavier spring, no need for that. A 14 or a 12lb will make the pistol feel flatter. Most folks over spring a 1911. Trust me, after over a 100's of thousands of rounds through over 40 years in USPSA, a 1911 is usually over sprung. Folks will argue that it was designed for a heavy spring. The heavy spring was for a pistol that was designed for fighting in any and all conditions with full power 45 loads. Get the lighter springs and try it, you may like the feel and you may not. The springs are cheap. It will not hurt the 1911.

It is a pistol design that has been proven through many wars, in many environments, and has been pushed to it limits and beyond with USPSA competitions.
