HS Precision Gen 1 SA Magazines

Hi Folks! Newbie here. I recently ended up with an early HS Precision HTR .308 rifle at auction. It is a police trade-in and is in fantastic shape. One problem-it came with no magazines. It has the Gen 1 bottom metal. I have searched everywhere but cannot find a single Gen 1 magazine for sale. I have attempted to contact the agency where the rifle came from to see if maybe the magazines were still in their possession but have met with no response. I read on a forum from the UK that Kwik-Klip magazines work with the HSP Gen 1 bottom metal with minor modifications but have not been able to confirm this. I can convert the rifle to AICS bottom metal or factory Remington 700 floor plate bottom metal. The early HSP HRTs were built on REM700 actions. I would really like to keep it all original, though. If anyone knows where I can score a Gen 1 magazine, please DM me. I have not been on the site long enough to post in the Marketplace forum. If I must go to an AICS bottom metal, what are your recommendations? I was looking at the PTG as an option. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I did and the only solution they offered was to purchase new Gen 2 bottom metal and Gen 2 magazines, neither of which I am a big fan of. They quit "supporting" the Gen 1 products in 2012.

I personally would convert to AICS, while continuing your search. If continued support is already a problem, it will only get worse.

Keep your ears open and maybe try to find others who are converting to AICS pattern and buy their take-off parts.

I got what you need. I've also searched far and beyond and have collected a couple of Gen 1 HS Mags. It shows some wear on the finish, and the previous owner cerokoted it brown. $90.00 shipped. Let me know if you still need it, so I can take it out of my safe. I honestly wouldn't let it go, but I went thru this issue, and I just want to help you out. Thanks Victor

Thanks, I came to the same conclusion. I wanted to keep the rifle in its original configuration. Now I have a second identical rifle with the same bottom metal and no magazines. I installed factory REM700 bottom metal with floorplates for now and ordered PTG Stealth AICS bottom metal for the long term. Thanks again!

I read somewhere on here that Kwik klip mags fit the original HS gen 1 bottom metal. Might be worth doing some research to confirm but could be a cost effective and obtainable option
