Remington 700 SA THUMBHOLE STOCK

Looked at wolverine web sight it could be There’s nothing on the butt pad. Thanks rijndael

That looks like a unique stock Fajen offered for a short time in the mid '60s I believe. If you can find a catalog pic on line you will see the action is set back into the pistol grip. A vertical cut has to be made in the pistol grip so the rear screw can be installed and tightened.

I know the machines they were using then, and from personal experience, the design requires some extra time to duplicate and finish, so I think Fajen dropped the offering in following catalogs.

If that isn't it, then I would assume it is a custom. Very few (thumb hole) stocks are built with the action set back into the pistol grip.

If you would put that "fat girl" on a diet and move the thumbhole forward a little, that could be a very pretty, comfortable, and useful stock.

It's common among International/Olympic match rifles though. This stock has features of a sorting rifle (buttplate and contrasting fore-end tip), but the proportions of a match rifle.

Yes the floor plate and trigger guard are recessed into the stock and the rear action bolt goes up through a counter sunk hole. Looks like standard Remington hardware. The feel of the pistol grip is good. It’s the length. Can’t get my eye relief even with the longest target scope i have and have to have a buddy pull the trigger. Is that team shooting.lol. Thanks for all the input. You guys are great. BUCK
