I stopped in the local Farm/Sport store today to pick up some stuff for the house. I checked in the sporting goods section and checked to see what was on hand. They had about 12 different rifle cartridges in stock...Better than it has been....Then I looked in the shotgun side.......My jaw just dropped....$55 - $69 a box of 5 for 20 ga. Turkey loads....REALLY !!! $11 - $14 DOLLARS A SHOT...I feel for those Turkey hunters.........

380 auto $70 for 2 boxes delivered to my door yesterday. It used to be $17 before all this nonsense for the same brand- PMC.

Number 6’s will kill a turkey.
And how much is turkey a pound at grocery?
You ever eat a bird, killed with 6's. i remember as a kid having
a plate of turkey and bisquits and finding shot rolling around.
Though it had to be 5's since it's all the family loaded for game.
Rabbit was the same, A little extra crunch now and then. Squirrel
we took with 22 longs. Those were only 35 cents a box out of the
Five and Dime.....

We ate a bunch of Pheasants and rabbits back on the farm. We got extra ice cream if we found a pellet.

The Federal TSS loads are pretty expensive, but they are super effective. Using 8 or 9 shot, getting a pattern that will cover up a turkey's squishy spots out to 65 yards and penetrate them means big $$ to serious turkey hunters.

I am just fine with using regular old Winchester Supreme Turkey loads that I bought 15 years ago. I like to get them close and only need one or two each year.

20ga is hen's teeth right now, so I expect turkey loads to be worse.

I treat turkey loads like my old man buys rifle rounds. Buy 2 boxes, sight in, and only go thru 2 a season ;)

The Federal 12 ga. was only a $1.00 or $ 2.00 cheaper than the 20 Ga., and yes these were both Federal TSS loads.
