What are the numbers within the circle, POA or POI?Take a look at this -
POI, corresponding to wind effect on a bullet. What are the numbers within the circle, POA or POI?
you could try this..Is there a wind chart similar to HP or Palma that gives wind correction in 1/10 or 1/8 moa for f class smallbore @ 50 & 100yd based on wind direction and mph? I could use shooter app if I knew g1 bc and bullet length for the ammo. Thanks.Steve
Here you go...see attachment. Based on Midas+ and Center-X ballistics, so should be close to what you're using for ammo unless your MV is way off. I used the Shooter iPhone app. My zero is at 50 yds., then two additional rosettes for 50 m and 100 yards. I have a Sightron scope with 1/8 MOA clicks (on a Shultz and Larsen M48 free rifle). Inner rings are wind speeds in mph (4, 8, 12, etc.), values in the circles are 1/8 MOA clicks. Is there a wind chart similar to HP or Palma that gives wind correction in 1/10 or 1/8 moa for f class smallbore @ 50 & 100yd based on wind direction and mph? I highlight click values and wind direction changes (say, a "sector" on a rosette). That sector can then be transferred "forward" to the longer distances if the wind conditions remain constant. With a wind meter on a vane, like the Kestrel, it works pretty well. I used hold-offs for momentary shifts.
You can also have lateral and elevation adjustment due to the mirage effect, even at 100 yards, but that's a different chart. Ballistics (Midas+ and Center-X):
0-------10------50------100 yards
1073---1052---985-----920 fps_____Website Data
1073---1052---982.7---915.3_______Quoted BC = .131, STP, 0% RH, Shooter app.
0.122 BC at 75F, 75% RH, 750’ MSL…gives good agreement.
At some point I'll try to revise it...it is not set up for 1/8 MOA clicks. Thanks for taking the time to post the windchart rosette. I'm shooting an Anschutz with Sightron 10x50x60mm scope as well. Could you also post your mirage chart when you get some free time. Thanks, Steve
