I was shooting some Wolf match extra yesterday and just happened to see "made in England" on the box. I thought it was supposed to be made in Germany?

The contract expired w/ Lapua about 2 years ago and Wolf is now being made by Eley on the lower production lines.

Yet many still believe it is made in Russia. Did not Lapua take it over years ago, but since sold, as some have posted ?

Wolf centerfire ammo is Russian. Wolf .22 RF is now made by Eley, until a year or two ago it was made by Lapua and was identical to the equivalent SK brand--made on the same lines, in fact.

Even before they attacked Ukraine , Biden banned their ammo from being imported awhile back.... There's just so many open import contracts out there and a large amount already imported it hasn't really showed up yet but may disappear off shelves in a few years.... Just another way they can control lawfully bought guns and law abiding citizens....

I thought that wolf rimfire ammo was made by SK in Germany? but the last wolf 22match I bought was a long time ago?

Current Wolf rimfire ammo is stamped with the letter E on the bottom of the case and has been made by Eley for several years.

Perhaps you missed post #2 by 'that guy' aka 1813benny.....aka Ken. His post was spot on, Lapua lost the contract a couple of years ago. Eley now produces Wolf RF ammo. As far as rimfire ammo goes, Wolf produces nothing, they contract it. Just like Norma and Geco, which is produced by RWS. I am not sure about Wolf centerfire ammo.

starting in 2018, Wolf .22 ammo is made in England by Eley. as for Wolf Centerfire ammo, I have no idea.
