Rear bag, help, specs, advise/guidance

I am need of some guidance. After watching Bart’s video on Gun handling, I realized how much I was doing wrong. Very wrong. It was a huge eye opener. So I went to the range and started with some of his techniques in the video. Can’t really base on how I shot. Wind was erratic and crazy. So not really a good day to try new techniques. But.. I examined my rear bag based on what he spoke of in his video and I realized something was not correct. I have a lenzi with rabbit ears. Pretty tall. I also have a Scarborough LV stock. The rake of the gun is riding on the stitches. I noticed a small amount of room on each side of the bottom of the stock where it touches the bag stitching. To me I am assuming that can be trouble and can explained erratic shots?? Obviously not right.

Based on a Scarborough LV stock from those who use the same one, what is a good bag design/specs? Let’s say a protektor bag. I know has to be for a rake stock, rabbit/or bunny? How wide sound the stitching be If I want it to ride on the ears? Etc…. I just don’t want to keep beating a dead horse using the wrong rear bag.

Still being newer to SR benchrest, I have a lot to learn and have always focused on the reloading portion and wind reading since I started. Apparently I skipped over some super important stuff on my journey. Thanks for any advise

Come on guys, give the man a hand! Barts going to cost all of us some money! LOL I went to the range and I use an Edge stock, I had forgotten what rifle I had taken and I took the wrong bag. Not a bad day just think it can get a lot better!!

I was told “ get a soft bag, let it ride on the ears”, not the stitches for SR, the rake of the stock also has to ride the same line, as it comes back from recoil..

Not trying to rob the thread but is this the way its supposed to ride the bags or no

Here is a good example of what NOT to use.
Old Hart Rest with a home made windage top.
A rear bag that appears to be made 30 years ago. In fact, it was. It was bought used in around 1997.
It’s amazing this guy can even hit the Burm, much less win yardages.
