600/1000yd LG on a Low Profile Deep Creek Tracker

Man that is UGLY let me send you a like new Ruger 77 so you can have a good looking rifle. When i get the tracking number of that blue thing on the way to fill the spot the Ruger lives in I will send it your way. I have several caliber choices 25-06, 308 or 338 win mag

So I guess thats what Im going to call this new stock I am starting to use. It is a Deep Creek Tracker from the action back and a low profile 4" wide forend forward of that thats also 2" longer. These are all laminate no fiberglass, not yet anyways. This one is built on a blued chromoly Bat B that required a full timing job since I was not able to get the pin fall I wanted out of it without cock on close. I ordered this action for a ppc but it was so smooth I used it for this one instead. I'll never shoot a ppc anyhow. I was not a fan of the laminate color, neither was anyone else so thats why I used it and just threw a paint job on it. The Krieger barrel is chambered in 6bra with a particular reamer that seems to really like a batch of @Tom E's bullets I have. Same reamer that was used to win back to back 600yd IBS nats by Jason Wolf with Vapors. Im trying to shorten my load development up since Im last minute. This barrel is lapped a little differently, Im also trying to see if I can figure out a way to get barrels to not do that speed up thing early in their life so I will be paying attention to that. 5 weekends to fireform and find a load, lol.

Damn Dillon! I'm glad I don't get that much wind. I've sat out plenty of fog delays, and had to set my pop up up to stay dry, but only have to turn around and leave maybe twice a year for wind storms.

Thats not all that impressive. But for the conditions it was shot in Im very pleased. If we had those conditions in a match and the rifle grouped like that I would be pleasantly surprised.

Paint job looks mad got like a good marble job. It's 1 of those special effects that can be hard to get your head around. Did you do it with cling wrap or use the DNA or Alsa system to do it ?

Went out to test a different powder lot. Anyone want to guess that wind value? I did get centered up good so I know how many moa it took. The 400 600 and 1k flags all looked the same.20220220_095633.jpg

If that is a "standard" wind sock, it takes at least 3 mph to orient the direction and it stands out straight at 17 mph.

In any case, it looked like a beautiful day even if it was a little windy.
