Talk me out of a Vudoo or Rimx

Not sure if this has been mentioned. RimX is control round feed. You can not single load into the chamber.

That said I love mine for PRS/NRL style shooting. The adjustable height magazines are great for tuning feeding.

I have a PVA fast twist barrel on mine and it shoots great!

Its like a controlled feed centerfire that has to feed from a mag. Very unhandy at times especially off the bench

Sweater Dood - I'd bet that the guys you've seen having issues with their V-22s feeding had all set their bbl'd actions up in one or another chassis - most likely ones that don't allow adjustment for mag height. Personally, there's not a chassis out there that I'd rather have than a conventional stock, and because of that, I've put a couple of 40X/XBs modified to use V-22 mags, and four V-22 repeater bbl'd actions into B&C, McMillan, and Manners stocks, none of which ever gave me any feeding issues. Based on all the online photos of 22RF rifles I see in a chassis instead of a conventional stock, I'm apparently in the minority, but that's OK, it's my money, and I have no desire to spend any of it on a chassis.

Most, but not all, were in chassis. None of them were complete rifles from Vudoo. All of this I have seen have run flawlessly according to their owners. And not all user-assembled Vudoos I have encountered have had feeding issues. Our match supporting LGS is good about letting competing customers swap magazines out to alleviate feeding problems, and that has help certain people considerably.

I have not encountered as many RimX rifles but have not come across anyone yet that hasn’t been able to remedy feeding issues by adjusting the mag catch, stock or chassis. For this reason, I see it as an advantage point to the RimX.

Had not thought about the CRF too much as far as single-feeding. For myself, I’d just pop another 10-12rds in with a new magazine. I could see why others might care though.

On the RimX, that one extra round during a match would require a mag change. But at a possible 17 rounds (with a MK mag extension) you'd most likely time out before empty.

I'm thinking(hoping) someone creative with a 3D printer could make a sled for single loading off the bench.

Theres some guy on snipers hide that makes them i do believe (single shot sled). If you cant single load though its not going to work very well. Maybe theres a mod for snapping over the rim

There was discussion here somewhere about the controlled feed was to prevent bullet damage/scraping entering the chamber off “straight in”

The extractor is fixed on a RimX with spring loaded tension piece for a flush bolt face. This does two things- control round feed and allows prefit barrels. The adjustable height magazines are top notch and easy to adjust for feeding.

I had ran a friend's Vudoo previously and wanted one but early teething problems held me back (feeding and extraction). After the opportunity to handle and shoot a RimX I was sold. I'm still eager to see a Three 60 but I'm also looking at another RimX Action.

I had a bad round blow out the rim during a match and lost my extractor. Called rimx they said they would handle it as warranty and I had a whole new extractor by the end of the week. Awesome customer service. I couldn't be happier with it.

Thats the opposite of my experience with the Zermatt. Bighorn was awesome, Zermatt wasnt. I sold all 3 of my Zermatts.

well I have been trying to talk myself into buying a RimX or a Anshutz. The reason I can't quite make myself click the button on one is not because of the money but I ask myself how much of a improvement I would see for the money. The answer is probably none. I found that ammo choice and wind reading are the two biggest factors in my rimfire shooting. I have a old CZ 452 and a Kidd 22 semi auto which are both perfectly capable of winning in any F class .22 and ARA competition when I do my part

However if you want one I say go for it. One of these days I will probably click the button on a Annie not becasue I need it but just becasue they are so damn pretty
