Krieger Barrels order up date

I also ordered two barrels last July (a 7mm and a 6mm) with an estimated delivery of April 14. I called them today, and Mike told me that delivery may be late April but more likely May. I asked him what the expected delivery would be for a barrel ordered today, and he said one year. Glad they are busy.

My usual practice is when I deliver my rifle and new barrel to my gunsmith I order a new barrel.

These delays are crazy. Its not their fault, delays in the supply chain, labor shortages, ect. Its good of you guys to understand. I waited almost exactly 6 months, from March to October for a custom order Krieger barrel. It arrived about when they estimated. Hopefully things will get better.

8-12 weeks is reasonable, that doesn't require planning and foresight. 52-60 does.

At 8-12, it also means my gunsmith probably has something on-hand. My current smith didn't have any for the month of Jan.

One of the reasons I have a small supply of barrel blanks in the closet. I never imagined that the delivery times would stretch to what they are today, but like said, its not the fault of the barrel makers. I squirreled them away principally because I knew they would never be cheaper than when I bought them, and secondarily because I don't have to wait, other than for the smith to fit them.

Barrel delivery, for the most part, has always been an order and wait proposition. For the longest time it was around 8 weeks. No so much anymore I guess.

It is my understanding that they have a continuous order on certain type barrels that are restocked several times a year.

Rock Creek Barrels is not currently accepting orders due to workload. The issue is industry wide. I had talked to the gentleman who runs it a year ago and he said he couldn’t find enough good help.

Well that brass that u see is about 3/4 of what I own. The rest is Gold box brass. I don't give a rat's rear end who knows what or how much I have. At this point in life I'm too old to care. Let them throw me in jail, they'll be doing me a favor. I won't ever have to wake up early, drive hours to a match then do my favorite thing, setting flags, then picking them up after the match is over. Yup that's worth staying in jail.

I’ve picked up multiple barrels from both Krieger direct as well as their in stock inventory. I had one on order and noticed they suddenly showed up in their in stock inventory. I made a call and they filled my order out of the inventory and I had it in three days. Look closely at their website, and don’t think they are second rate. The ones I bought off the site have all won.
