The SAAMI minimum spec is a tapered neck with a .2550" diameter at the front and a .2570" diameter at the rear. I think that should work well with your neck dimensions.Anybody running Lapua brass in a saami chamber, im coming up with.2525 -.253 loaded round and im thinking neck is a little tight
This is what I found on saami sight says .254 front and .256 rear. The SAAMI minimum spec is a tapered neck with a .2550" diameter at the front and a .2570" diameter at the rear. I think that should work well with your neck dimensions.
I recently had a 22-250 reamer made. After measuring my Lapua brass, I had them make the .200" diameter larger.
You are looking at maximum cartridge dimensions, not chamber dimensions. The dimensions I referenced are minimum for the chamber. This is what I found on saami sight says .254 front and .256 rear.
To tight for me, I guess I'm turning.

I had a problem with Lapua brass in a 22-250, would not chamber everyone else's would. Called them,we're very helpful. They pulled salami drawings and there drawings.there brass is made to cip. Specs. It's about .002 larger than salami spec.I know a few smiths that want 1.5 thou per side for neck clearance but I've had others tell me they are fine with 1 thou per side if you're using consistent high quality brass like Lapua. I have a couple guns that per the prints neck diameter only have about 1-1.25 thou per side neck clearance and they've never presented any problems for me.
A few years back one of mine I couldn't very easily slide a bullet through the neck of a fired case and I was always told that was kind of the rule of thumb so it had me a little concerned. I talked to Kevin Weaver about it and he told me being able to slide a bullet easily in and out of a fired case is fine but not necessarily mandatory. I told him my fired neck diameter and what my reamer print showed. Kevin told me as long as you have at least 1 thou per side I was good to go.
Salami spec is for lard lubricated brass?I had a problem with Lapua brass in a 22-250, would not chamber everyone else's would. Called them,we're very helpful. They pulled salami drawings and there drawings.there brass is made to cip. Specs. It's about .002 larger than salami spec.
Google spell checker sucks..Lapua is who told me their brass was larger than saami spec.Salami spec is for lard lubricated brass?
SAAMI and C.I.P. specs are the same for the cartridges I've compared, I've compared them for a 22-250.
I think Lapua brass is mfg closer to the maximum spec than some other brands.
One of the things that can cause confusion when comparing SAAMI and C.I.P. drawings is where the measurement is taken. On a SAAMI 22-250 drawing, one of the body diameter measurements is taken .200" from the base. On a C.I.P. 22-250 drawing, what might appear to be the same measurement is taken .1268" from the base. Since the case is tapered, that makes the SAAMI measurement smaller.
