New gun causes fight!!

I went down and picked up my new Savage AXIS 300 AAC blackout yesterday and when I got back to work I took it out of the box and did a once over. My brother walked up as i was looking at it and noticed I had a weird smile on my face. I handed him the gun and instructed him to pull the trigger. he cocked it and I told him it was already cocked.

No it wasn't.

He cycles the bolt....
Him....it won't cock
me...yes it will...pull the trigger!
HIM....I did...it won't fire...it won't cock!!
ME TRY AGAIN...don't be pittifull!!
Him....%$**...I did.....somethings wrong with it!!!
Me....YES IT WILL.....and take it from him and pull the trigger and it fires. SEE"
He grabs it back and trys again....nothing.

Any way...this went on for a few min...me being the antagonizer the whole time.

Long story short. THIS HAS TO BE THE WORST TRIGGER I HAVE EVER PULLED....MUST BE 15- 20 POUNDS!!!!

LOL....I asked the gun guy at Cabelas WHY it didn't have a NF on it instead of the Redfield. He smiled and said that I got screwed again!!

I have three. First thing than comes to mind is the safety is half way on. Had that happen to me one day at the range. Mine have a three position safety.

No...the trigger was THAT hard to pull....he wasn't pulling hard enough. Pretty much ALL of my firearms have 2 oz Jewel's...that is what he was expecting i think.

With the trigger......I ordered a Timney from Midway. We'll see.

There is someone who makes a replacement trigger spring for those. I did my own with a pair of wire cutters.

If it has a Accutrigger in it it can be adjusted and will work all the way down to a 1.5 LB pull.

Read the manual.

Wow! 15-20 lbs? If you want to sell that trigger let me know as it would be perfect for holding my 24 ft SeaArk in place in a stiff current.
