A meal fit for a King right there. Had the collard greens, fried bacon and cornbread.I just use bacon drippings for seasoning all that stuff except the black eyed peas, use chopped up country ham for that. Having greens with fresh pork, black eyed peas, okra & tomatoe, rutabagas and home made cornbread for dinner today. Feel lucky already just to be able to enjoy all that stuff.
When I was a Kid, my step dad was an ASS! (can I say that?) I remember having to stay at the table till I finishes everything on my plate. Nothing like COLD split pea soup for a Kid.made a pot of split pea soup this morning
I'll use a slightly sweeter Scottish ale, This year, we just smokedGerman & Polish here in PA.
Pork butt roast with sauerkraut, mashed potatoes.
Throw a pack of hotdogs in at the end.
Don't forget to add the beer to the sauerkraut when cooking!
Bon appetite!!
