Unable to zero after chassis upgrade.

well its been a long time since i trigged anything out but if i'm correct i don't think you could bend the barrel that much.
assuming he was at 100 yards thats 3600 inches. again if did it right thats .57 degrees. If the barrel is 26" long I calculate barrel would move up .258". But I'm probably doing something wrong. i'd call it a shit load.

Error(36") x barrel length / 3600 = inches of barrel movement
36x22/3600 = 0.22 muzzle movement. I think this is the correct formula.
Correction may have to measure from the turret center to muzzle for barrel length in formula.

Your barrel'd action is not correctly mounted in the chassis. Or its not designed for a Remington
Action etc..etc... * You may have a bum chassis .*
Thats where i would start if you did not remove the scope from the action and barrel.
my 2c ( If you removed the scope all bets are off ) and disregard

Back before my son-in-law was my SIL he dropped a scoped rifle off at Gander Mountain for scope covers. When he got it back it shot crazy high. Turns out it had been dropped and bent the scope tube down in the front. Not saying you bent the scope tube somehow but that would explain your extremely high shots.

60 inch pounds. (As stated in the Oryx installation manual)

Thank you.
I only torque mine to 45 front screw 18 back screw on the action, you can cause a serious bind if you over torque that back screw. on a 110 make sure you don't tighten the rear screw alot be easy with it, also as you torque the front screw make sure you bounce the rifle some on a block of wood to seat it and do the back screw bolt last and lightly

I bought 2 Oryx Chassis during Black Friday sale last month. One for a sa Savage and the other for a Nucleus action that I also bought during Black Friday sale. I took my Savage barreled action out of the factory beaver tail stock, installed it in the Oryx and torqued to their specks, 60 inch lbs. I've never torqued a Savage to these specks, I have 3 in MPA Chasis's. This Savage action has a Urbanrifleman's Wilson barrel on it in .223. It has from the get go shot 5 shot ragged hole groups everytime it has gone to the range. Yesterday I shot 4 of these 5 shot ragged hole groups at 100 yards in the Oryx Chassis torqued at 60 inch lbs. I will say after going from one stock to another I rezeroed. .6 mil down .2 mil left. The actions ride higher in these Chassis like the KRG Bravo, I have 2 of these. It's high enough compared to my MPA's that I double checked to make sure the recoil lug was not bottoming out in the pocket, it's not. Yours possibly is. If it's not level in the Chassis and it's running muzzle high then I would tend to believe it's the recoil lug. Start from scratch and go from there. Good luck in figuring it out. Question, did you pull the bolt, sight thru the bore and dial the scope into the center of your target?
Welcome to accurate shooter.
