Quick load on apple, will it work ?

Hello, can anyone here tell me if the quick load software is compatible with Apple products ?
I have been searching high and low to see if I could find the answer, I even put a call into Neco

thank you John

not that I can see. That is the reason I have not purchased yet

I think Gordon's Reloading Tool is compatible but I have not tried it

QuickLoad is probably my most-used piece of software. There's not a day that goes by that I don't fire it up several times. I run it on a 16" MacBook Pro.

No, it doesn't run natively on MacOS. You have to run a virtual machine like Parallels or VMWare Fusion (after years of running Fusion, I've been using Parallels the last couple of years). Or else Boot Camp.

For sure, I wish QuickLoad ran natively. But the virtual machine solution works just fine.

FWIW, GRT also does not run natively on Mac... only on Windows or Linux. You have to use a virtual machine for that one, as well.

thanks for the clarification on GRT.
I will not ad any software to my Apple that is non native.

I have a MacBook Air and a Surface Pro (Microsoft windows) - GRT only works on the Surface Pro.

You'll need Parallels or similar on the Mac for GRT to work.

Ok, so I have a new iPad Pro and I checked out the parallels app,
I don’t think I am understanding it looks like I would need to load quick load on a regular computer and then somehow I can access it with my iPad ?
I’m getting the feeling this isn’t going to work

I have run QL on a mac since 2013. You have to use a microsoft emulator that will run windows files on it. I use CrossOver and have never had an issue.

I’ve been able to run it on a Mac using Wine, but it’s been a while so not sure if it will still work on the latest version of Mac OS

No, QuickLoad is not going to work on your iPad Pro, John. The iPad is a fantastic device for consuming content (I keep dozens of movies and hundreds of books - not to mention a bunch of digital copies of Handloader Magazine - on mine). But you're going to need a regular computer to run QuickLoad.

Sorry!

Ive been running QL on my mac by making a windows partition and then just reboot into windows. I mainly use GRT on a Linux partition since linux and GRT are both free.

Folks, thank you for all your help and info, it’s greatly appreciated.

As far as the software goes can you actually design and dimension cartridges ?
that’s really what I’m hoping for,

QuickLoad isn't a CAD program, if that's what you mean. What it is is an internal ballistics program that allows you to model the major factors that influence the pressure curve and resulting velocity of a given round of ammunition.

It's very granular, and does allow you to change many case dimensions - but not everything. It doesn't have an input for shoulder angle, for instance. Take a look at the splash screen just below the table of contents on Rob Robinette's tutorial https://robrobinette.com/QuickLOAD.htm and you'll get an idea.

If you want a copy of the User Guide, PM me your email address.
