My first build on a Roy Hunter stock

I just finished this one up. I have got to know Roy and was able to get him to make a few blanks for me. (He's not going backing into stock making). I will probably get a hand full of these a year to build on. They are very intricately made. They look like one piece of wood but he has a triangular, tapered, piece of wood he chose for damping properties that runs the full length of the stock that he wraps in carbon fiber. So inside of this blank is a triangular carbon skeleton. I blocked out the stock after bedding and rubbed it with 5 layers of epoxy, blocking between before I took it to get clear coated. I inletted and glued/screwed a Bat Nuevo LR drop port into it and chambered a Kreiger 8tw hv in 6BRA. I did my accuracy work to the action and tuned up a Bix n Andy trigger for it. It was so cold this morning that the shutter on the camera quit so I will be adding some pictures of the carbon underside of the stock as well as the triangular skeleton.

Nice work. Very nice.
What is the piece to the left of the scope that has holes in it?

Beautiful finish!!
What epoxy do you prefer for wood stocks to fill grain and block out to perfection?

Very nice! I notice this beautiful rifle sports a Vortex Golden Eagle. Best value in a benchrest scope available. Nice work Alex and Roy. Now continue this with some load development targets.
