Versatile trigger?

I'm wanting to replace the factory trigger in my Remi 700 project rifle. I do shoot some friendly benchrest matches (600 yards) locally, but it is not what I would call a dedicated br rifle, since I also plan to hunt varmints with it. The rifle is a remington 700 SA, chambered in 6bra, wearing a magpul pro 700 FXD chassis. I'm not sure what trigger to go with though. I want a good smooth adjustable trigger that I can tune down to a very low weight for when I shoot br, but also tighten up so that I can take into the woods and not have to worry about it going off unintentionally or getting it dirty.

Bix & Andy tacsport Pro? I bought one for a gun I haven’t shot much yet. It has a nice clean break. Look it up. I’m not sure how low it goes.
Ok, I found it. Here:39BA0A36-5D66-4693-AC00-6438FD339E3D.png
Also look at Jewell and save some money. I have about ten of these on my guns. My favorite trigger! I buy them from Larry at Great Scott Triggers. Great guy! I had to look them up to see how heavy they adjust. Here:

Messing about with a trigger - no thanks - I have enough trouble getting it right once!
Your best bet is to set it up "properly" - short movement, around 2 lbs, no backlash and learn to cope in both situations. I would likely use a Timney or Triggertech. There's plenty of us that have shot decent groups with a less that perfect trigger - especially those that shoot vintage military matches from time to time.

I have read on other threads that the Jewel triggers do not fare well in a dirty environment. Is this true?

You could go The Bix & Andy Tack Sport Pro Two Stage. I use them and like them a lot and is very adjustable. It might work good while set a little lighter but might be a bit better in the feed being light but having two stages. You can also adjust so its a single stage if you change your mind.

I have Jewel triggers on all my Remington rifles. I did have trouble one time with the trigger refusing to fire. It was all my own fault. I had chambered a round and it had a faulty primer in it. I should add it is a 6PPC and the bullet was inserted very loosely. Instead of using a rod to push the cartridge out, I simply opened the bolt and extracted it. The bullet remained in the barrel and the powder spilled out as the ase was extracted.

I managed to get everything cleaned up and went to shoot again. Of course powder had entered the trigger and it was a no go. When I got home, I used compressed air and Ronson lighter fluid to clean it. No more problems and I am careful if I need to extract a round.

I tune my Jewels down as far as I can and I believe they are all less than 1,5 oz.

Any trigger is a sensitive mechanism. Letting it get gunked up with cleaning overflow, dust and dirt will cause problems. I haven’t had a problem with any of my Jewels except one. It came to me on a used rifle and didn’t work well. I pulled it out, soaked it with acetone and blew it dry with compressed air. The gunk that came out was the cause. Lighter fluid is what you should use but I couldn’t find mine. I have a new can, now.

I've used both the BnA TacSport and Jewells. Both are just great triggers. For what I was doing, I wanted the trigger to release ~ 10 oz [i.e., either as a single stage or the second stage in a two stage trigger].
If I did it again, I'd go with the TacSport. At the same time, I wouldn't hesitate to use the Jewell.

PS. The TacSport can get dirty pretty quickly. The trigger is designed to be taken apart and cleaned. There are little springs, a tiny ball bearing and a couple other very small parts - so need to take it apart in an enclosed area - like a big plastic bag. After doing it a couple times, it becomes fairly straightforward. And, feels much better after it's cleaned.

I have two Jewell triggers and shoot a couple times a week at BA . One of dustiest ranges to shoot on when the wind blows . The simple answer to care and feeding of the Jewell is to follow the cleaning instructions from Jewell . Wash out with lighter fluid , and I follow up with low pressure compressed air . Another shot of lighter fluid and let drip dry . Good to go . Roughly 10,000 rounds , and no issues , so I guess I'm doin it right .

they dont like dust, like drag them around in a farm truck in OK with no ac and windows down all summer dust. I dont think any trigger would do well in that condition...flush with lighter fluid and just like new. if you dont mistreat em like that you will never have a problem. Im a jewel fan

I tend to clean my guns regularly, so that shouldn't be much of a problem then lol.

I will second a previous statement of the trigger tech. I have a diamond on a bench gun and really enjoy it and a 700 special on a hunting gun. There is no creep at all and adjustable by a Allen head screw for weight as simple as can be to set how you like.
