Ruger 77/22 hornet stock

My original stock was damaged beyond repair. Anyone know of a source for a stock.
it is a ruger 77/22 hornet all weather with the heavy barrel. newer style, barrel threads into receiver. The only one I have found is through ruger for $350 was hoping to find cheaper option. I would even be willing to do some modification for barrel clearance. I already sent one back to midway that was all wrong no way to make it work. Must have been labeled wrong. The action would not even fit. Open to any suggestions thanks.

I found a place Richards microfit stocks.
they come 99% finished and have them for the heavy barrel version. Looking at around $200 think I am going to give them a try.
I talked to Boyd’s and the guy I talked to did not seem very knowledgeable he said they didn’t have one for the heavy barrel and couldn’t tell me if the others had enough meat to be able to open it up.

You might do some poking around at Numrich gun parts. They may have a factory replacement at much cheaper than Ruger. I just bought a Savage 112 laminate Benchrest stock from them a couple weeks ago for $150 and it is in pristine condition.

Richards Microfit is an option but be prepared to do lots of inletting and sanding. They are neither drop-in nor Microfit.

Very true. They offer decent prices and their grading system for wood is pretty good, but every stock I've ordered required extensive inletting as well as final shaping and finish. Quality has always been good. Ease of fitting...not so much.
