Stevens 30. Camo or wood?

Been saving for a ruger wrangler to keep on the 4wheeler and tractor but run across this stevens at the gun show so I picked it up instead. Its an odd ball as I have never seen a 22mag or in camo for that matter. While camo is alright, I prefer wood. Sure enough it's wood underneath. Since this gun will never really be worth more than the $225 I paid for it what are y'alls thoughts on sanding the camo off? Yay? Nay? PS: the brown spot in my yard was an army worms invasion (cutworm).

Thoughts on removing the dip?
I have never done dip removal. I wouldn’t use a paint stripper. If you don’t get it all off your stock, it’ll cause trouble with your new finish. I hate ‘em. I’d use 80 or 120 grit on a palm sander.

Thoughts on removing the dip?
Why don’t you try contacting some of the dip manufacturers and see what they say? Don’t know if you tried to google it or not but that might be another way. Contact @Bc'z on here, maybe he could send you down the right road. I prefer wood but it is not mine so it doesn’t matter what I think. LOL
just a couple I googled on YouTube
