Petersen Brass

Anyone use Petersen 7mmBR cases to make 30BR cases? I would think that the cases wouldn't get worked as much, any pros and or cons.

The issue described below may be the reason the 6BR brass is more popular.

This excerpt from the 30 BR section at the beginning of this website, is clearly dated material since it addresses the cartridge from a historic standpoint. This is definitely prior to Peterson, ADG and Alpha brass brass emerging onto the premium brass scene and specifically speaks to the Remington brass only.

I did secure a small quantity of the 7mm brass to work with for the 30BR but time these days is shorter than I expected so it will be a while before I can add any comments.

Maybe ask Randy Robinette?

Lehigh Defense/SSK firearms makes their 30BR cases from peterson Brass (they are out of stock right now). only thing I have seen is that Peterson brass normally run 10-15 Grs heavier than lapua brass and neck is a little thicker.

Currently have 3 rifles running Peterson 7br brass blown out to 30. Totally satisfied as of right now. One pass to make them .30, necks turn super easy and clean, and accurate as all get out when fire-forming.

Had some bad luck with the last 3-4 runs of Lapua. Cases started losing tension way early. Currently 10-12 matches in on the Peterson brass and still going strong!
