Lock time a big factor?

From the above:
Shooters can therefore tend to experience better precision using firearms with a shorter lock time, and short lock times are especially sought after for shooting competitions which require high precision on small targets from unstable positions, such as the standing offhand position.

… If I remember correctly, Remington claimed .720 of a second…..
I think that number is something closer to something like 3milliseconds (.003) on a Remington. Even my side hammer ‘74 Sharps are faster than .7

If you can have an action that has a fast lock time why would you opt for one that does not? The shooter is the weak link and even though not planned he/she may move the rifle even if only occasionally.

Ive never shot a match with a rapid fire section so I don't think that is an issue to me . but I can see how it would be for some.

Heavy bolt lift causes the rifle to upset in the bags, and not return back to the point of aim. Same with rounds that chamber hard, because the cases are not sized right. All stuff that prevents Me from going home with the wood :(
