Bergara performance

Just passing along an opinion of the Bergara 14 in .22 LR. We shot my buddy’s today at 200 and it shot a ten shot group under 4”. He has installed a Jewel trigger set at 4oz. I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. It shoots as well or better than my CZ 457.

I just seen a guy at the range get one of these with the carbon wrapped barrel , he tried some of the SK ammo and the Bergara did really well , just as good as my CZ 457 MTR

Mine shot Norma TAC about the best for cheaper ammo. It all came together with Eley Team.
Shot other ammo soso to ok. Of coarse what I have piles of was just hohum groups/patterns.

I had one on order at the same time I had a Tikka T1X on order the Tikka T1X came in first from Euro Optics. So I purchased it, the Bergara B14r came in about 2 weeks later from a dealer over on Snipers Hide and I sadly passed on it. To many things being purchased at the time. I may reorder the Bergara in a couple of months. The Tikka T1X shoots great. I don't know if I can shoot the Bergara any better so decisions, decisions....

I am thinking about buying one of these since my CZ is back in the shop.
How does one mount a rail or rings to the action on these rifles ? What's the setup required to mount a scope ? I don't see any type of mounting available on the action. Thanks.

Also, how is the barrel mounted ? is it threaded Any pics appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

The rail mounting screws are 6-32 just like a standard Remington 700 SA. I used a EWG HD Picatinny rail with 20 MOA built in. EWG #80002.

I am having 1st shot flyer issues with mine so I am epoxy bedding it. The fit between the action and the stock from the factory is less than desirable, My action was just sitting on the aluminum pillars and not contacting the injection molded stock. There was paint between the action and the pillars to boot.

i was also led to believe that remington 700 rails would fit the bergara.

unfortunately this has not turned out to be the case

due to the different distance between the front and rear mount holes spacings, a section of the leupold 20moa base had to be removed to fit the bergara.

Apologies i have now found out the base I obtained from a local gunshop was incorrectly identified as a rem SA when in fact it was a rem LA.

sorry for any confusion.

Now you have experience in how to make a LA base fit a SA.

I got my Tikka T1X first also. When I got the Bergara, I hoped it would shoot as well as my Tikka, it does, both will shoot sub MOA out to 200 yds in good conditions. Both shoot about any ammo you put in them. I shoot Eley Club and SK Biathion in them now.

What model of Jewell trigger did you install? BR model with no safety? WD

If you have just one. Which one.

Bergara, I have a Trigger Tech Diamond in mine. The Bergara is a heavy gun with scope and bi-pods it is 13#, it sits very well, it does not move. I have my Tikka in a KRG Bravo to get the weight up close the the Bergara, Why have one when you can have two. A friend shot my Bergara Friday, he said "Damnit, now I got to get one"
