I wanted to share pictures of Shooting Rests made by Precision Machining Students. I felt it better to start another thread on this subject. these rests were made in the class I taught for 21 years. Each was made for that students personal use. The purpose of the project was to teach certain machining skills and reinforce techniques already learned. ( I never had the forethought to use it as a fund raising project.............
) Any way all these went on to be used by the students at home.
Most of the students I had are working in local Shops and Factories in the machining trade. There still is a lot of talented youth out there.
The rests could have been made with a simpler design but it was designed to be a learning exercise, so some degree of difficulty was included. All parts were assembled with mechanical fasteners and no welding was involved. The paint was applied by the students and was their choice of color scheme. It should go with out saying that I did a prototype for myself to prove the design...........
