Who makes a 20x6mmHagar barrel?

I'm tinkering with the idea of building a 20ppc Ar15 for varmints and range outings. Hoping to go 20" with 11twist. I've seen 20lbc previously offered on Columbia River barrels as an 18" but they are no longer on their website. Does anyone have any suggestions or will I need to contact a maker directly? I'm open to any of the ppc/gendel/arc variants.

Edit: It seems like the 20ppc won't be a good fit due to short OAL and the potential for feeding issues. I'm looking at a 6.8spc based 20cal option. So feel free to make any suggestions.

Try AR15 Performance, they had a 20 Predator AR-15 Barrel in the past that was based on the Grendel cartridge. I have owned a couple of their barrels(6mm Predator & 6.5 Grendel Match) and have been happy with their performance.

I have a 6mm based on the grendel case that feeds very well but could see feeding problems going to a 20cal. since I have had problems with light 6mm bullets. For the 20cal. AR I5 I have 2 that I chambered in 20 Tactical that feed very well,I would look at something base off the 223 case to make your life easier. The 20cal in a AR with a JP type captured recoil spring set up will be your favorite AR by far.

I own a AR-15 6PPC from Model 1 Sales. No feeding issues with Grendel magazines. The issue was losing ejected PPC brass in the tall grass so I went with a 6x45 chambered AR-15 and don't worry so much about losing brass.

What are your thoughts in going with a 20 PPC over a 20 Practical. All I can see is a lot of headaches and money.

Mo' powdah. Honestly I just want something unique and the PPC cases were appealing until I realized they would be too short to feed reliably with ease.

Dale,

Do yourself a favor and just simply neck down a 6.5 Grendel or 6mmARC.... same thing more or less.

Grendel Case is based on 6PPC, but with some design improvements that make it perform in AR15. Lots of brass options available for Grendel/Arc so less worried about losing Lapua 6PPC brass.

I looked at the Hagar and really like the classic case design. When I started getting serious, I realized how difficult it was to get brass. Also, the fact that it isn't more prevalent and the Grendel case is was also a subtle hint. The other potential issue is whether or not the Hagar fits into AR15 magazine OAL constraints.

Additional Observation: All of the calibers you are flirting with fall into the area of Custom in an AR15, which translates into you are unlikely to find an assembled barrel in this caliber sitting in someone's inventory waiting to be shipped. Most likely you will need to purchase a .20cal barrel blank and have your gunsmith mate it to a barrel extension and chamber it in the cartridge you desire. Don't forget that this project may also require you to buy a custom reamer. All of this is no big deal...its just requires more time and $$$.

Shilen said they could make one.

This is likely going to be a big issue so I've turned my attention to a 20cal 6.8spc variant. The 20GPC has some merit but I kind of like the Hagar case. If I could find a 20x6hagar I would be delighted.
Who makes 20 GPC brass, that’s a lot of steps to neck down to 20 cal from .277

Instead of looking for a company the makes an obscure wildcat barrel, why not just have a reamer made and have a blank 20cal AR barrel chambered . Then you can replicated it down the road.

Todd Kindler developed 20 Titan based on the 6.5 Grendel case. It is described in detail in the "Terrific 20's" book. I've launched 55 grain Berger's at 3850 with extreme accuracy out my bolt guns.. Mc Gowan can build a Titan AR barrel if you supply the reamer and gauges.

A buddy is planning on a .20 Hagar. He has the brass and made a few dummy rounds. I definitely like the Hagar case but as others have pointed out, the brass supply has just about dried up.
