Will I be handicapped with a 17 Hornet in that country, I'm heading down there soon, what's the difference between the two. I've got a new CZ being put together now, I can shoot out to 300 yards my guess with it, I've killed plenty gh's out to 200 easily with the 17 WSM.Dont get me wrong i setup and shoot alot from a distance with 20 TAC but the real fun is walking and sniping Groundhogs inside of 300 yards! 17 Ackley Hornet is Awesome!
Doubt it. I have had plenty of rabbits out to 300 with mine. Just shoot 20g at factory speeds. Will I be handicapped with a 17 Hornet in that country, I'm heading down there soon, what's the difference between the two. The 17 Hornet should be good to 300, I've actually shot sage rats pretty consistently with my 17 WSM out to about 250, but any wind will make it tough to get a sage rat far away... their heads are about the size of a walnut and body smaller than a Coke can. Will I be handicapped with a 17 Hornet in that country, I'm heading down there soon, what's the difference between the two. I purchased a 20 Practical upper with the intent of going past 300, when the Hornet is at it's limit, and I'm hoping to get out P-dog shooting some day. It's a "bucket list" thing for me. I have .223 and 22-250 for those extra-long shots. You want be handicapped with a 17 Hornet. 300 yds and in is 17 Hornet work. Over 300 yards i use my 20 TAC out to 500 yards. I get the occasional 600 yard one from time to time.
