Pacific Tool and Gauge - new rimfire actions

I am unsure when this all came about but it looks like new choices for the rimfire custom action world. PT&G has rimfire actions showing on their webpage. After looking at the website I called this morning and they are currently showing four different actions for sale with three being on sale. There is virtually No information shown on the actions and my call to PTG brought no information. I was told that in "about a month" the website would have new info. I spoke to two different people, one sales and one tech guy and neither knew anything more than the extremely sketchy info show on the webpage. I "think" all four are a virtual copy of the 40X with there being a left and a right eject single shot. These are labeled Lonestar having a choice of right or left eject and the Scorpion having the left eject only. Both are on sale right now at $699.00. They also show two actions labeled PTG RH 40x RF Action. One is a single shot, does not show eject side and listed for $1,000.00 and the other shows a choice of single shot or repeater, left or right eject and lists as on sale for $850.00. I asked about what magazine was used for the PT&G 40x repeater and got no information. The tech guy did tell me to send an email and someone would answer my questions.....

I will be buying one of the repeater actions if they use a "normal" sized rimfire magazine

I remember seeing this on there a few years back. But didn’t have any info then. The lonestar was made by Jerry stiller. I believe ptg did supply the bolts for the lonestar. I would say good luck in getting one though after hearing about their service the past few years

I would suggest that the OP pay serious attention to the last sentence in Mr. Mudducks reply.

I have a Stiller rimfire action and I hope no part ever breaks.

I love my Stiller Lonestar action. I went in knowing that parts might be an issue, so I got some spares from PTG. YMMV. I too like the appeal of a repeater option, but would definitely want more info before committing to anything. Watching with interest. It SEEMS that the Lonestar bolt is essentially a 40x bolt, but I'm not sure it actually is. EDIT: My action was bought from the original owner, who bought it from Stiller.

There is a website for Holeshot Arms but it's not very good. It does have his email and phone number on there and he does answer his phone. I just talked to him earlier in the week. If you call him he could probably shed some light on the PTG/Lonestar thing. The website has the 2500X, 2500XS and Lonestar actions listed but very little other info about them.
