Bolt Bushing

I don't know him personally but I have talked to him a few times. He is a quality gunsmith and very helpful. Like most good smiths, he is inundated with work right now. --Jerry
Greg has done several bolts for me and his work is flawless. Everyone of the bolts have been put to the test over the years and work perfectly.

I've had bolts done by both. Headspace didn't change at all. I didn't get the work done, expecting the group size to shrink, just to eliminate the problem Remington created.

Just to show the difference on my Remington 700 VS SF II and the way it left the factory. Why they felt the need to chamfer the FP hole in the bolt face is beyond me, but I have seen more than 1 that they did this to. So in addition to the FP being supported due to the bushing and turning of the pin, this shows the work @carlsbad did for me.

Before BF and fired primers.

I would never use carlsbad, I mean he does excellent work, has great communication and fast turnaround time.

Better to send you bolt to another excellent smith that is not taking on any new work.

Best post in this thread. You have shown the beginning issue and end result in a perfect picture format.

It goes out first thing in the AM. I'm excited. This will be the last thing I need to do to make my REMAGE 20 Practical be field ready other than the suppressor. The new stock will be here Friday and I got the Timney trigger Friday. This is my first REMAGE and I want it done right.

Once again thank you all for the help and for carlsbad answering my PM's in a timely fashion with no BS answers.

Greg

My bushed 700 Remington bolt just showed up. I am tickled pink over the work!! Once my new rings come in on MOnday I'll be in hog heaven on the build. I'll post up some pics of everything that I've done to this base gun in the last ten days.

Big THANK YOU shout out to carlsbad.

Greg
