need help identifying an action

The loading port cut out looks identical to my Lawton, as does the trigger hanger. The bolt is different though, I was told by Lawton they were using PTG bolts when I purchased mine, but maybe before that Barney was making his own. Also the bolt release is different, another PTG sourced part maybe on mine and the gas port is further back on the one in the photo

Looks like there lots of nice folks that would take it. I am not familiar with Lawton or JB Longfellow. I will have to do some checking. I could always contact Stiller as well. This is such a great site with so many knowledgable people.

My guess was a Lawton, Maybe one of the last ones that got sold off as pieces when they went out of business thats why no markings. I believe LRI ended up with a bunch of their stuff that may account for the different style bolt release.

Looking up the scope base shows navy arms, beretta, browning, savage, (it does look like two locking lugs), stevens, anshutz, cooly. That's the best i can do.

You made me smile! Always enjoy your post especially since you hold the .220 Swift in high esteem and appreciate the simplicity and strength of the Arisaka.

Never realized how "modest" you could be.
