6mm PRC load data

Hi there any of the members running 6mm prc 8 Twist , bullet powder recommendations. Or if any of the members know of a Smith who has chambered
A rifle in 6mm I can contact, ie email address., many thanks for your time, regards Lee

I don't know of a gunsmith or wildcatter who is using this cartridge. With brass hard to come by on this side of the pond, I expect that wildcatting cartridges might have slowed down a bit in order to conserve brass.

On the other hand, I use the 6mm-284 cartridge for both hunting and long rang targets. The 105 grain VLD bullets seem to perform better than the heavier 115 DTACs from 600 - 1,000 yards. Re-25 is my usual choice.

By the numbers, this combination is similar to what will be churned out by the PRC case.

I've built two of them. Both preferred R-26 over H-1000, and both also favored Hornady 108 ELD-M's over any other of the heavy weights.

Current one runs the 108's at 3425 in a 24" Bartlein.....

Anytime Lee.....

I Know this thread is from several months ago but I figured that I would add what I've found with my 6mm prc 8 twist... It didn't like H1000. It has been most accurate with N165 and RL26. 108 elds were probably the most accurate with the 110 Atip and 105 Berger in a tie for second most accurate. RL26 will push the 108 to 3400. Its a warm load. The 3350-3370 node is very accurate. 59gr rl26 seemed to be near max with the 108s. 56.9gr N165 is near max with the 110 Atip. Disclaimer: start Lower 10% lower than this, it may be overpressure in other rifles.

I have an old winchester m70 6x284 I used to run 105s with a 19" barrel, and switched to 115s in a 21" barrel.
Currently my go-to hunting set up is an 18" carbon6 barrel in 6.5 PRC with 130s at 2940 but I'm looking to build another one in 6 PRC with 115 Dtacs.
I LOVE staying with an 18-19" barrel, but past experience with the 6x284 suggests the 21 is going to be a better choice. Anyone dabble with that short of pipe on this cartridge yet?
