I have three rifles with necks tight enough to require that I turn necks. I didn't chamber them this way because I wanted a tight neck, but rather they were the reamers availible at the time I wanted the chambers cut. One rifle is a 6.5 Saum hunting rifle. I'm using R-P .300 SAUM cases to start with, so there's a fair amount of work to do here. As this is a 8.5lb hunting rifle, and won't shoot many groups once load development is complete, I'm guessing a bit more, rather than less clearance is the best idea? Say 0.004-5"?
The other two rifles are a .22 br with .250" neck, and a 6br with ,268" neck. These are range toys, so I'm thinking 0.003" is about right?
