1st time user of accurate and imr powder needs advice

I had been using N140 for my 308 an 223 but with it the shortage is accurate 2460 and imr 4166 good substitutes. In 308 I'm loading 168 bthp hornady in alpha brass and cci primers but don't see any load data for the bullets I have. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

For what it's worth....keep an eye on Powder Valley. I check it 2-3 times a day and in the past 2 weeks I've seen 8# of N140 for sale twice but passed because I don't need it. It lasted over an hour one time. Powders are starting to loosen up a bit and PV has done a great job putting obstacles in place to keep the Bots out.

I have been using 4166 for a couple of months in 308. An accurate load is fairly straightforward to achieve using the usual method - but take care near maximum, it bites quickly! I'm loading 45.5 in ADI brass (Australian) which has less capacity than Lapua and it's at max. 155g at a smidgen under 2890. (28in barrel). Unusually - most powders for the '08 work well in 223 (varget etc) but 4166 goes like a damp squib. I havent checked velocity, but I was getting 4 MOA lower than my usual 25.4 Varget load and vertical stringing at 600 with 24g. Didn't pursue it any further. I'm low on Varget - but it's the end of our season and I just bought some 8208 to play with over the winter.

4166 is great in 308, paired with 155 Scenar it’s the most accurate load for that weight class in my 308 and does not disappoint all the way out to 800 or so.
Quite. However I'm usually disappointed at 1000 yds, and it has nothing to do with the load!!

155 Scenars are unobtainium right now. I am using some Australian bullets from these guys-http://www.optimusprojectiles.com/hbc-155-grain-bullet.html
