Anyone had any experience with the new model? Thinking about one. I have 3 Annies already. 1700FWT, 1408ED Super Running Boar, and a 1907 in a 54.18 MS stock. The Annie’s will not outshoot my RimX and 2 different Shilen barrels but are cool guns and I like em.

I asked the same question a few months ago and was referred to some youtube review. Not really what I was looking for so I ended up getting a RimX built that I'm happy with. Good luck.

Agree. Have had RimX for over a year with 2 barrels in MPA chassis and Ezell PD tuner. No complaints.

I have a 1761, it's an excellent rifle. Mine's the MPR version with the light 2 stage trigger. To save me repeating myself I'll link to some thoughts I have on it elsewhere, mainly posted as there is still a lack of reviews on this model Anschutz.

LeeGardner Precision did the first barrel with JGS Match chamber. It is a lighter #5 Shilen and I fitted a Ezell PD tuner. Midas works best for that one. The second barrel was a heavy M24 contour blank that I threaded for Savage barrel nut instead of fixed shoulder and the chamber I bored and used a .22CF throater. Also turned muzzle end slightly to accept Ezell PD tuner I have for my Anschutz 1907. Both barrels are about 20” and both shoot the same with Midas.

My first barrel from early last year is the same and I had barrel before action. My action is from early run and have had for a year. Really like the RimX.

I too have a fondness for the Annie's; having put thousands of rounds down my old 80's era 1807 while shooting NRA silhouette matches. I was out to a 50yd fun match (with my Bergara B14R) at a local 1k rifle range and asked if the Annie would be competitive at 50yds shooting against the RimX, Hall, 40x and Vudoo's prevalent on the line. I was told to save my ammo; that the Annie wouldn't run with the other dogs. What's holding back the Annie compared to the other actions/barrels? And yes, I sure like mechanics of the RimX.

I do like my Annie’s for looks and 5018 trigger on a couple but my RimX and custom barrels will edge them out @50 &100yds.
My RimX and heavy barrel. IOR 36 power BR scope. This beats my Annie’s.

My favorite cool gun is Anschutz 1408ED Super Running Boar. Added 5018 trigger and I made aluminum adapter to use Ezell PD tuner. Also has factory extension and weights. From 1980

Not to get in the weeds but my interest was in the new Anschutz 1761 and in particular the MPR version with lighter trigger. Wanted to see shooter experience with regards to accuracy and any problems.

Have a 1761 20" have lightened my trigger to just under 1.5 pounds after putting 300 rounds through the gun am getting .3 inch groups or better with sk match best sofar is .220" at 50meters yet to break 240 on IRB but have just bought a 36 fixed scope and proper rests and bag
