Remington coming back

Don't understand what the United Mine Workers union has to do with firearms manufacturing.....

The union organization that represents the workers. Since unions are dying out, the big, mainstream ones represent whoever they can. I’m sure at one point UMW only represented miners. But once they started losing the mining workforce they branched out to other industries. I’m in the paper industry and our unions are United Steel Workers. o_O

Unions have definitely seen consolidation. During my career in the petroleum industry I saw the Oil, Chemical, and Atomic Workers union (OCAW) merge with United Steelworkers

I haven't given much thought to Remington. But now, at first thought, their problem seems to me to be Ruger, Tikka, Savage, Browning. No good innovation at Remington. I assume that's an issue at the top. Which probably isn't union related.

I don't really care what happens to them. They should lead the pack with innovations, but always seemed to fail at that. The odds of me buying a new Remington = 0%. Tikka for instance = 100%.

Remington was always right there, though. Like had a 90% awesome solution and just never followed through with it. That’s the frustrating part. For example the .260 Remington or the Ultra Mags. Or focusing on weird stuff like the electronix rifle or that weird triangle barrel rifle. They should have consolidated rifle styles and really refined them for the cartridges they were shooting. Hindsight is 20/20 though, and I’m being the CPT of it right now.
