Cerokote Color that Mimics Bluing

I've never tried the gloss black. I did however just use the midnight blue on a couple rifles this past weekend and they turned out beautifully. Definitely a nice alternative to actual bluing.

What about gloss black? I’m trying to decide what color black to get my barreled action cerakoted.

I do matte black or graphite black and it always turns out sharp. Issue with gloss on Cerakote is that it will always have a “wet look” to it. A skilled applicator can give it a mirror finish. Not really sure if that’s what you’re looking for in a black. They can knock the sheen down to your liking so you’re somewhere between matte and gloss.

I went with Graphite Black on this 284W I had sitting and finally screwed it in last week. i really like the color match and the matte finish is perfect for a hunting rig. From what I understand, you can change the mix ratio to get more gloss if that is what you want.
