De-priming military tools?

Any normal resizing/de-priming die should work just fine for de-priming. If you're referring to removing the primer crimp for re-priming the case, look at the RCBS Primer Pocket Swager. I'll try and find a link for a YT video to show you how simple it is.

I just run mine through my regular resizing dies. As to crimp? A #2 Philips served me well for years All you care about is removing a crimp removal. Reaming removes dome metal and swaging relocates some metal. Either method just preps a case to be primed. Half of the stuff out there is a solution to a problem which does not exist.

Use a standard decapping die (wither a dedicated decapper or sizing die.) Go slower than you would on non-crimped brass; you'll feel it as the primer starts to move. Don't just slam the handle down; that's usually when things break,

For crimp removal, best is a swaging tool, second best is a pocket reamer, but a rocket ship case mouth deburring tool works as well. You'll need to get a feel for how much to remove - I use spent primers to test when the pocket has been cleaned up. Usually just takes a twist or two.

I have broke a lot of RCBS, Forster, and Redding decapping pins sizing military brass with crimped primers. I use a Universal Lee depriming die, now for 25+ years with zero problems.

I have an RCBS Swagger for large and small primer pockets for cheap money if someone need one.

I use one as well. I, however, have had a problem, namely the soft steel Lee uses for their decapping pins tends to mushroom at the tip after a bunch of use. I notice it first on my 32SWL brass; I can feel it hang up as the pin comes out of the flash hole (I suspect 32SWL has a smaller-than-normal flash hole, but have never verified it.)

Remove the decapping rod, chuck it in a drill and hit it with a file, and it's good to go again (for a while.)

Have you tried hardening the pin ( heat till cherry red and quench in oil)

Piie; No; I have a couple of spares. The problem doesn't crop up often; it takes quite a while to develop. It's just something I take care of when I notice it.

I use a Lee decapper punch and hammer for crimped .30 cal primers. I have the RCBS primer pocket swager tool but I don't recommend it. If I had a large number of cases to swage I'd probably get the Dillon tool and for just a few a hand reamer works just fine.

I use a Lee Universal Decap die for decapping anything and everything military...............I don't use it for small FH stuff like Lapua........

Dillon for swaging.

I too use the Lee decapper. So far it has proven more robust than its more expensive competitors. If you don't think so tougher decapping pins for the Lee decapper can be found on Amazon for $15-$20 for a multi pack. For removing the crimps, while I have an RCBS swager I have taken to using a Hornady "VLD" case chamfer tool. Works great and is a lot less work :)
